UG NX5 BUTTON MAPPING FOR SPACEPILOT

UG NX5 BUTTON MAPPING FOR SPACEPILOT
I am using a Spacepilot for NX5 on Windows XP 32bit OS. My 3Dx version is 3.5.5. My issue appears to be with the NX5 button mapping. The 3DxWare commands do not appear at startup. The rest of the NX5 commands are fine. The missing commands may or may not mysteriously appear at some point during the day. If I run a repair on the 3DxWare the missing commands find there way back. The next time I restart the computer they are gone again.
Button Mapping
See if there is a way to map the buttons in the application. If you map then in the 3dx control panel only they will be wiped out by the application default button set every time.
John,
This button mapping is only available when NX is running. The editor and problem are the same whether it is accessed through the NX menu, the Spacepilot "Panel" button, or the 3Dx icon in the taskbar notification area.
I have screenshots of the problem at startup and after I run the software repair from

Missing Functions in NX5
Has anyone else had this issue? I have submitted screenshots of the problem to 3Dconnexion. I have not gotten any replies.
Hi Brandon,
Unfortunately we are currently unable to reproduce this. On the screenshot I see that the 3DxWare commands disappeared - what do you see in the other categories? What configuration-file (123.scg) is active when you notice that the commands disappeared?
You can see the active configuration when you move your mouse over the 3DxWare icon next to the system clock.

Missing Functions in NX
All of the other command categories populate as they should. It is only the 3DxWare that is blank. My active configuration file is user00.scg. This is the same file that is active after I do a repair.
The only thing that is unusual about this setup is the AutoCAD install. This version of 3DxWare does not support AutoCAD versions older than 2007. We are currently running AutoCAD 2002. To be able to use the SpacePilot in our version of AutoCAD I installed the AutoCAD drivers from an earlier version of 3DxWare (not the entire old 3DxWare). The missing NX functions happen without AutoCAD having been started or any AutoCAD configuration files available. Could this combination be causing the glitch?

Please follow these steps:
A) Stop all running programs and 3DxWare
B) Go to %appdata%\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\
C) Create a new folder named "backup"
D) Move all *.scg-files to the new folder (Do not copy!)
E) Start the 3Dconnexion driver
F) Start your application
The user has full access to these scg-files?

Missing Functions (sceeenshots emailed)
Please see the attached screenshots on email. I tried moving the .scg files. Upon restarting the 3DxWare everything appears to be normal. My missing commands return and the 3Dx works as it should in NX. However, when I switch programs I get an error. When I clear the error 3Dx software stops working and the SpacePilot appears normal but is unresponsive. Closing all programs and restarting the 3Dx driver and NX does not change anything. The problem repeats.
I have restored the .scg files to their original locations, and I have preformed a restart on the 3Dx and all programs. The commands appear as they should. Programs/application switching also appears to be functioning properly. Only time will tell when it comes to the original problem of the missing 3DxWare commands.
Thank you,
Brandon Strader

Missing Functions
This morning at startup my 3DxWare commands were missing again. I tried moving the .scg files one more time. After restarting the 3Dx driver and NX my commands are working properly, and there have not been any problems switching applications.
The problem appears to be fixed. I will post if the problem reoccurs.
Thank you for you help.
