SpaceExplorer and Custom Button Functions

Post by DPVisions »

Is it possible to create custom functions the have repeat functionality or simulate a specific keyboard key combination is a continuous keypress.

An example scenario is using the SpaceExplorer's 'L' & 'R' buttons to adjust Photoshop CS3 brush hardness, Shift + [ and Shift + ]. I would like to be able to just hold down the SpaceExplorer's 'L' button to continuously adjust the brush harness and is the same behavior if using the acual keyboard shortcut.

DP Visions,

You can create custom functions that have repeat functionality.
Go to:
3D Control panel/button configuration.
Click on custom functions/new.
Name the macro and record the key strokes.
Save the macro.
When you map that macro it will be at the bottom of the drop down list.

Chris, thanks for the response!

I have mapped Shift + [ to the SpaceExplorer "L" button. But when I press and hold the "L" button the it only generates a single keyboard key stroke and does not repeat or behave as if the keyboard keys where held. I have to press the "L" button multiple times instead of holding the button down.

I don't think the current implementation will repeat keystrokes. We'd have to keep that in mind for a subsequent release.
