Button config not saving

When you click the systray icon, does the 3Dconnexion Control Panel come up (check the window title to make sure)? If it does, you should select the "SolidWorks" configuration from the pull-down menu. That should go some way to fixing some of these issues.

OK, I guess I'm not being obvious enough... Here's exactly what I'm doing:

1. Opened SolidWorks.
2. Created new Solidworks Part.
3. Opened "3D Connexion Control Panel" by clicking button in system tray.
4. Verified that the current configuration is "Solidworks - Administrator".
5. Selected "Button Configuration" Tab.
6. Selected field "B".
7. Selected "rotations" in field "B".
8. Clicked "Options" tab.
9. Saw that "Automatically Save Configurations" was checked.
10. Clicked "OK" on bottom of "3D Connexion Control Panel".
11. Saved Solidworks Part.
12. Closed Solidworks.
13. Opened Solidworks.
15. Created new Solidworks Part.
16. Opened "3D Connexion Control Panel" by clicking button in system tray.
17. Verified that the current configuration is "Solidworks - Administrator".
18. Selected "Button Configuration" Tab.
19. Saw field "B" is EMPTY.

I've done this hundreds of times so far... It would be nice to not have to do keep doing it every day. Please help!

I think this where the problem may be: double clicking on the systray icon when SolidWorks has the foreground should open the button mapping of SolidWorks, not the 3Dconnexion Control Panel.

Repeat steps 1 through 3 and on 4 select the "SolidWorks" configuration. Then go to "Options", "Delete Saved Configurations..." and remove the "SolidWorks - Adminstrator".

I originally made that configuration in an attempt to be able to save my settings. I just deleted it, but when I closed and restarted Solidworks it came back. Why do you think it would do that?

The Solidworks plugin overwrites the 3DControl panel button mapping editor.

Use the toolbar button configuration in Solidworks to map the buttons.

If you have created macros in the 3dcontrol panel open up the 3Dxware function, locate the macro and map it to your button choice.

How do I map the motion controller specific commands (Rotations, Translations, Sensitivity, etc) to the buttons using the interface in SolidWorks? When I look in there, it only shows Solidworks specific commands to map buttons to.

Click on the hammer infront of the 3Dxware function
select Rotations, Translations, Sensitivity drag and drop to the button of your choice.
