You can open the files to see which is for CATIA, or just delete them all. They are saved under %APPDATA%/3dconnexion/3dxware/profiles.
I've deleted the scg file that was at the above. Restarted the computer and still nothing im afraid.

Hi DannyM,
i am using Catia V5 R18, SP6 [...] on windows 7.
For Windows 7, I believe Dassault specifies that you need to use R19. Are you sure you have a supported configuration? If unsure, check with your IT person.

Are you perhaps running CNEXT.exe (the CATIA process) with elevated privileges (run as administrator)? If that is the case, trying doing the same to the 3dxsrv.exe process as Vista and Win7 have a feature that may prevent processes from interacting if running at different levels of privilege.

We have just installed R19 to see if that made any difference but again afraid to say that its not made any difference.

I have tried running both programs as admin and then again both not as admin. Still no luck.

Could it be a driver issue? Or am i running the correct one? Is there an older/different one that may work?

i have just tried the driver 3.8.3 and that still has the same issue. I tried this as a number of the guys working here have been using this driver with no issues.

You said you're now using the "CATStartNoDocument" variable. If you remove it, do see an empty CATProduct once CATIA finishes loading?

Also, check the firewall settings. See if you have an exception for CNEXT.exe (CATIA needs to access the loopback device). What firewall are you using?

On your first post, you wrote that you're using both CATIA and SolidWorks. Do you also have a problem with SolidWorks? Or is this limited to CATIA?

Yer, once that variable is removed the product comes back up again on startup.

My firewall is disabled but i am using the std windows one. I have the exception CNEXT.EXE already in. We use microsoft forefront security also.

The problem is limited to catia now, but all the settings in Catia are setup for the device.

You can leave the var "CATStartNoDocument" in. This is fine.

If you believe your security software is not preventing CNEXT from accessing the local network, then check the following: open the Task Manager when you have both the 3DxWare driver and CATIA running (processes "3dxsrv.exe" and "CNEXT.exe", respectively) and let us know if both processes are being run as the same user.

DannyM, are you using a 32- or a 64-bit build of CATIA R19?
