3d Navigator / Win 7
Hi Guys,
Firstly sorry if this has been discussed many times before but i couldnt seem to find the info i needed anywhere else.
Basically i am using Catia V5 R18, SP6 and Solidworks 2010. I have a new Navigator, running on windows 7. The drivers that i got from the driver section are (release Version 3.10.1, Driver Version 6.10.0)
All of the demo's seem to work as does the google earth feature. Also the two buttons appear to be working as i can bring up the control panel and change those to suit Like my old USB plus. But i cant get the flip, roll zoom etc to work.
Im sure im doing something wrong so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Dan

Motions Enabled for Your Application?
Dear DannyM,
In the 3Dconnexion Control Panel, each application will have its own configuration settings. These settings will switch automatically to match the application that currently has the Window's 'focus'. In the 3Dconnexion Control Panel, the top drop down box will indicate which configuration is presently in effect.
Under the 'App Configuration' Tab, you would want to make sure you have 'pan/zoom' checked on, 'tilt/spin/roll' checked on, 'dominant' unchecked.
Then you may double check your settings under the 'Advanced Settings' Tab, to make sure all your motions are enabled for that application.
Sincerely,
Bryan G.

The more things change, the more they remain the same. ; ^ )

Yep, I have checked all those bits and they are as you have said.Bryan wrote:Dear DannyM,

i just installed the latest drivers, and didn't see any demo installed.
Re: 3d Navigator / Win 7
Hello Michael,
you can find the demos via "Start -> Programs -> 3Dconnexion -> 3Dconnexion 3DxWare -> Demos".

Any ideas on my problem guys?uludwig wrote:Hello Michael,

I'm stuck as i cant seem to sort it out still. Ive tried doing all sort of searches and followed what they have said may resolve it but still no joys. It seems like its not picking up the fact that im using catia in the aplication part of the control panel.
I really dont like not using my spacemouse so would like to get it fixed asap. Ive also email the tech team (last week) but still have no reply from those either.
Help

Cheers

Dan,
did you check the settings within Catia itself. You should have a toolbar for the 3D mouse with icons for the pan/zoom and the roll/spin/tilt function. Please check if those are not disabled.

Yer, i checked these and they are all enabled. Everything fairly simple that i can think of have been checked and double checked.uludwig wrote:Dan,

When in the 3d control panel. Should there be the application -Catia be in there like the previous (USB PLus i had). At the moment i either have the choice or any application or any application -Danm.

Also i did the HID check that another part of the forum suggests but there are no references to a spacemouse product in there. Just a HID compliant device. Not sure if thats going to make a huge difference. I can see that when i remove the SM then one of those dissapears to the computer is seeing the device just not assigning the necessary to it.

can you pan and zoom? Or can't you do any movement? Did you check our knowledge base articles about missing navigation in Catia here and here?

I've made sure that the firewall is off and even have exceptions for 3d stuff just incase. I have also added that variable (not really necessary for me but still been added) I've literally been through your whole backlog of info.
I have cnext.exe running

The variable ADL_ODT_IN may not be defined. You have to delete it.DannyM wrote: ... I have also added that variable (not really necessary for me but still been added) ...

I have CATNoStartDocument.
thats the only one that i have.
Is it possible that an update from microsoft could cause this? I have been looking and all my issues started once i did a number of updates. Namely security updates. Maybe one of these have disabled something?
Since you have upgraded to a new device, your saved scg file may not have entries for the new device. If the demos work, delete your user scg file that is saved for CATIA. You can open the files to see which is for CATIA, or just delete them all. They are saved under %APPDATA%/3dconnexion/3dxware/profiles.
