Missing MSI Files
Using windows 10 with Space Navigator and installing with your latest software and getting the installation error 1714 missing MSI etc for a few files typically AutoCAD, Adobe and Sketchup. Gone through your forums and done a manual uninstall including editing the registry only to reinstall and get the same messages. Trying to install onto a storage drive on the same 64bit machine (ie D drive instead of C). The Space Navigator works on some software but not the ones above. I also have the Cadmouse. Can anyone help?
Kind regards

Re: Missing MSI Files
Hi PGB003,
was the installation successful? Did you install 3DxWare 10.2.9 or do you have another version of the driver?
When AutoCAD is running and you open the 3Dconnexion properties what application is mentioned at the top of the properties window?

Re: Missing MSI Files
Thanks for responding UtaSH,
The installation was successful - just reported the msi files missing. I have installed the latest version 10.2.9 . I only have AutoCAD LT which it does work in. In sketchup the last programme I was in is at the top of the properties dialogue box e.g. explorer or Chrome
Kind regards

Re: Missing MSI Files
Out of curiosity are you using Symantec for virus scanning protection? I have been having the same issue for quite some time. I can install on a VM image on the same computer but not on the host machine. I am trying to investigate if (even after disabling the V/S software) that is causing the issues.
Re: Missing MSI Files
As it happens I am and I have tried disabling it without success
Re: Missing MSI Files
I have tried the same as you to disable it. I keep getting the same issues over and over. I am suspecting the A/V is not actually disabling itself.
Re: Missing MSI Files
I have tried uninstalling it and still no joy - glad I am not alone
Re: Missing MSI Files
Hi both,
have you had an older version of the 3Dconnexion driver installed previously? If yes. I recommend to install it again and then un-install it. That might erase any existing conflicts.
If this doesn't help please create a log file of the installation as described here. Contact me and I will provide an email address where you can send the log files to.

Re: Missing MSI Files
I have already tried to work this out with support (3DCX-20150210-0024). No resolution. We worked through these typical steps and then the contact just stopped with no answer. I can provide those logs to you as well but that ticket number will provide all the details. If you would like to try to figure this out email me and I will forward what I have. Looking forward to having this resolved.
Re: Missing MSI Files
I apolgize for this. I will look into the ticket and will get in contact with you soon.

Re: Missing MSI Files
UtaSH,
Done a removal using FAQ28 although the DLL files to be deleted were not found. Reinstalled as administrator with networks and firewalls off - still no joy - error messages attached. Unable to run the command prompt routine you pointed me to despite many attempts to ensure I had the correct string. Still the same group of MSI files that are missing the most important to me being the sketchup file
Getting pretty desperate - takes ages every time I run through this process never mind being without the most helpful tool I have. Please help

Hi PGB003,
would you please create the log files from the installer as described here? Once you have them send them by email to me. I'll send you an email address by PM.

Re: Missing MSI Files
Utah,
Gone through the whole routine again and this is the message for each of the key add-ons including sketchup - see attached (even tried copying the temporary directory created during install and installing it afterwards) I have no idea which old version of the driver I had (I know you have asked other people to uninstall with an older version of your driver) Please please give this some serious attention - I have wasted so much time on this and am seriously missing the 3D space navigator. I have also fully uninstalled sketchup and reinstalled with no success
