How many folks are having trouble with MDT and Space Nav?

Post by Sailinshuz »

MDT 2008 - Space Navigator worked starting out.

Then Heidi driver started crashing when I touched the SN cap.

I reinstalled both video driver and 3DConnexion software. Still crashed MDT 2008. Then, it started not crashing, suddenly.

I can pan and zoom in MDT 2008, but not rotate when I have part shading turned off.

If I turn on part shading, all is well. Any ideas? MDT 2008 is still a "live" product. Seems like all the development went into Inventor.

For what it is worth, I uninstalled my Space Navigator software and put my Space Navigator in my desk drawer.

Seems to be the only fix available. Seriously, all my problems with MDT 2008 went away...

Hi Sailinshuz,

We are aware of some crashes reported on MDT identical to your report. The new release will include a update to our AutoCAD/MDT add-in which addresses these.

The update will be available soon.

Question

Post by PSM »

Have you find a way to work with MDT2008 when one can not use 3d orbit with spaceball when you are in amdt toggle shadwiref mode (2d wireframe). The support guy insisted me to use 3d wireframe but it work like shit for me. My opinion is that they need to add a function so I can chose if I want to use 3d rotate in 2 wireframe or not. The also need to add set rotation center so I don

I'm sorry but I do not think I quite follow. Please bear with me: you want to use your 3D mouse to rotate without leaving "2D wireframe" mode. Is that correct? If yes, how do go about doing just that using your normal mouse?
