Axis sensitivity in SolidWorks

I just purchased and received a SpacePilot. Previously, I had used an IBM-branded SpaceBall 4000 FLX (serial) for many years. I'm now running Windows Vista 32-bit. (... which is why I had to upgrade; the serial Spaceball doesn't work on this machine and OS.)

I find that the individual axis sensitivities of the SpacePilot aren't as consistent as what I'm used to from the Spaceball. Some axes move quickly with barely a touch, while others move really slowly even with a lot of effort. Although I haven't tried tweaking this yet, I know that the 3DxWare Panel allows me to adjust the individual axis sensitivities on the Advanced tab, so that's probably a solution for most applications, but I wish the sensitivities were set up better by default.

However, in SolidWorks 2008, there doesn't seem to be any way to access the 3DxWare Panel. All I'm able to bring up is the SolidWorks Button Mapping panel, which doesn't allow me to adjust the individual axis sensitivities. In SolidWorks, rotations are very fast, but translations and zooms are extremely slow (compared to what I am used to from the Spaceball), even with the overall sensitivity turned all the way up.

How can I adjust the individual axis sensitivities in SolidWorks?

Go into programs and select 3DConnexion
open:
the 3dconnexion 3dxware folder
choose :
Show 3DxWare Control panel.

Make your adjustments from here.
