Hello!
I just got my SpaceNavigator and it seems to be a really fine piece of hardware! I have however some problem with the plugin for SketchUp.
The Camera Mode reverse all axis and set the center of rotation to the position of the camera, right? To me this reverse does not feel natural, I'd like the axis to stay the same as in non-Camera Mode. Is there a setting for this, and if not - why not?
Also, in Camera Mode some axis speeds feel a bit slower but its not really a problem.
Thank you.

Dear Azghoul,
I'm not exactly sure what I should be considering 'camera mode'. Perhaps you could share the menuing you use to choose 'camera mode', and then the menuing you use to choose 'non-camera mode'. Under the camera menu I see a number of commands, but I am not sure which ones I should be using to duplicate your experience.
In general, one would expect 'camera mode' to create this seeming reversal of viewing on the screen, because instead of moving the object, you are moving the camera. For example, if you move a real life camera to the right, the object will appear to be turning to the left.
In our 3Dconnexion Control Panel we give the user the choice of reversing directions and adjusting speeds for the six different types of motions. This provides the user the ability to customize device settings to their liking.
Sincerely,
Bryan

Sorry if I was not clear.
I toggle Camera Mode on and off in SketchUp under Plugins > 3DxSketchup > Camera Mode. Here is a screenshot:

A better name for the "non-Camera Mode" is perhaps.. "Orbit mode" or something. "Camera-is-not-center-of-rotation Mode" perhaps? But thats another story. I'm just wondering if the reverse controls when Camera Mode is selected is possible to re-reverse or un-reverse.

I'm actually never moving the object with the Space Navigator, Camera Mode selected or not. I'm always moving the camera; its just the center of rotation that changes between an object and the camera, and the direction response of the controls. My objects are at where I placed them, at all times. In general, one would expect 'camera mode' to create this seeming reversal of viewing on the screen, because instead of moving the object, you are moving the camera.

Dear Azghoul,
Thanks for the screen shots. In that camera mode, there is no center of rotation. It's more of a walk through type mode where you are actually moving the camera through the scene. A little different mind-set is required when using this mode. From a distant perspective it may appear similiar to a non-camera mode. If you move the camera in-close where you are moving the camera between two buildings as though walking through an alley, it may make more sense as to the intended use of the camera mode.
In our 3Dconnexion Control Panel we give the user the choice of reversing directions and adjusting speeds for the six different types of motions. This provides the user the ability to customize device settings to their liking. You may make these changes under the "Advanced Settings' Tab.
The Help Feature gives a good description of the camera mode and various uses of 'center of rotations'

I do use the Camera Mode on "indoors" scenes for "moving around" where such a type of controlling the view is or may be preferred, and the "normal" or non-"cam mode" when viewing/editing the exterior of an object/scene. However I do not agree with you in the statement that there is no center of rotation when using the Camera Mode. When you rotate something, or around something, there is always a center of that rotation. It may not always be static or in the middle of the view, but all rotations has a center. I do not mean the tool/function "Center of Rotation" here, as it does not apply when Camera Mode is active, but the actual center... of the rotation.
Anyway I now think I have got the answer to my question: No, it is not possible to inactivate the reverse axis of the Camera Mode.
Thanks for the help!
ps. Sorry if I sound negative, I am not. Really :)

Dear Azghoul,
Yes, you are absolute right. It is not possible to have a rotation without some center to it. It's a mathematical absolute.
In camera mode, you would find the center at the point of view, at the focal plane of the camera.
When I said there is no center of rotation, I was referencing the ... ' tool/function "Center of Rotation..." that as you indicated "... does not apply when Camera Mode is active."
In our 3Dconnexion Control Panel we give the user the choice of reversing directions and adjusting speeds for the six different types of motions. This provides the user the ability to customize device settings to their liking. You may make these changes under the "Advanced Settings' Tab. There is check box provided for each the six different motions that you may check to reverse the directions. Also under the 'App Configuration' Tab a 'Reverse' Button is provided for reversing all six motions at once.
Sincerely,
Bryan
