Solidworks 2008 missing zoom commands
I am using a Spaceball 5000 USB and noticed that none of the zooming commands are in the 3.5.6 drivers. They used to be in the "view" tab in previous versions when using the serial 5000 and they are there for the current Spacepilot as well. This is like this on a new install on 2 computers.
Dear jalcad,
In 3DxSoftware Version 3.5.6, you may choose your zoom preferences under the first tab "Device Configuration". You may choose to have your device zoom by using an up/down motion or you may choose to have your device zoom by using a forward/backward motion. You may choose which ever motion is most beneficial for your current work flow situation or just as a matter of personal preference.
Sincerely,
Bryan G.

Brian,
That's not what I am refering to. In previous versions there were button maps for PREVIOUS VIEW, ZOOM TO AREA, ZOOM TO FIT, that are not in the button mapping choices. For 2006 & 2007 they are in the VIEW tab. If you had versions earlier than 2008 installed on the computer and installed the 3DConnexion add in, then these are there. If you install JUST 2008 and 3DConnexion then they ARE NOT. These three menu choices are used about as much as the pick button on the mouse. Did these choices go the way of the serial port support for 2008 as well.

Hi jalcad,
You can only map commands available on a toolbar. Check that the "zoom" commands that you're looking can be found in one and, if not, move them into any SolidWorks toolbar. Then, open the Button Mapping panel and check if the commands are listed under the category with the same name as the toolbar.
