SpaceNavigator not working in AutoCAD 2008 at all

Post by Patch_61 »

I just hooked up my Navigator and it seems to run fine in all other applications, but not in AutoCAD 2008. I have tried setting AutoCAD to 3D mode, but I still get absolutely no response from the Navigator. It's as if it doesn't exist, yet it runs fine in other programs. I have tried reinstalling the driver with no effect.

I manually added the arx driver to AutoCAD's startup suite and now it seems to run fine.

Ok, it's not totally fine... I have no forward/backward roll for some reason, but everything else seems fine.

A word of advice for AutoCAD users: turn off Selection Preview (object highlighting) because if you are rotating your view and some object rolls under your mouse cursor and lights up, there's a good chance you will crash AutoCAD. To turn off Selection Preview, go to Tools menu, Options, Selection tab, and uncheck the two boxes under Selection Preview.

Did my last post get deleted?

It seems like the driver is failing to recognize one or more axis in AutoCAD 2008.

Can I please get some help here? Is this going to be fixed? Is anybody running this driver in AutoCAD without this problem?

Thanks

Doh! Beat me with a stick! All I had to do was click the toolbar button to enable rolling. Methinks this should have been on by default, but that's neither here nor there. Everything seems to be working 100% now.

Thanks go out to me for all my help on this problem.
