Solidworks & Chrome Conflict

Post by Rokmonkey »

I have a relatively new problem with my Spacemouse Pro.

When I load up Solidworks when I have Google Chrome already open, the mouse only works in zoom control. When switching on the menu, the mouse is set to Google Chrome even when Solidworks is the application I have up, focused and have been working in. if I close Chrome, the mouse works perfectly fine and registers as having Solidworks as the current primary app. Now if I focus Chrome, the mouse is still registered to Solidworks and the will control the Solidworks viewport while Chrome is active.

This is a strange and difficult issue, any fixes?

I am currently running a fully updated Windows 7, Google Chrome and Solidworks 2016.

Hi Rokmonkey,

this sounds as if the communication between addin and driver is not working. Please make sure you are starting the driver and the SolidWorks as the same user. See here for more information.

Hi-

Everything is running as admin. Now I understand that it wasn't intended to run as admin but I cannot change that and for a time it was working fine.

In fact for the past several months it was not a problem, but at this time, the mouse inputs are not working within Solidworks, however the buttons are working.

The mouse is working with Chrome.

Hi Rokmonkey,

would you please contact our Technical Support Team? We need a log file from the driver to analyze the situation.

Thanks,
Uta
