rotate point in NX

Post by johnmor »

I am using the space Navigator and NX 4. The Navigator does not respond to changes in the rotation point, but instead continues to rotate around 0,0,0.

Does anyone know how to correct this? Not being able to control the rotation point is really undercutting the utility of this device.

Note I have changed the rotation point using nx commands and by setting a button on the Navigator. When I rotate using my mouse, the new point is used. When I use the navigator it still reverts to 0,0,0.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks,
John

Are you using the 3DXNX Toolbar to pick a point of rotation?
Set Rotate Point

Select this button and then select on the model to establish the point of rotation.

I have tried it using the 3D connect tool bar as well. Doing so changes the rotation point for the mouse, but not for the Space Navigator.

thanks,
John

Hi johnmor,

From the NX add-in documentation:
Set Rotate Point
Select this button and then select on the model to establish the point of rotation.
You need to first click on the toolbar button and only then on the model.

Is that isn't working, we need to know what are your system details and NX version.
