Windows XP SP2, 32bit
CPU Intel Quad
Gigabyte DS3L MB (usb 2.0)
Got a SpaceNav PE - current Driver from 3DCon. Webpage.
Following Problem:
The 3Dcon. Contol Panel doesnt startup.
-> windows firewall off
-> Commodo firewall off
-> Virus software off
-- tried a clean reinstall (deleting registry entries etc) a few times.
pluggin SpaceNav into usb - windows recognizes SpaceNav for about 1 minute then its gone from the hardwarelist.
and as i already mentioned - software doesnt startup.
whats wrong?

Unplug the device
Hold down the 1,2 buttons
While holding down the buttons
Plug the device back into the usb port
(Make sure your not using a USB hub, plug it in direct to the usab port)
Wait 15 seconds and release.
Now look on the desktop and click on the 3dxware control panel
If the panel opens the device is now found and should work.
If not contact support to get it replaced.

Hi, tried everything - didnt work.
then i realized:
my 3d space navigator is idetified as a wacom mouse,
cause i also got a wacom intuos 2 tablet.
this is kind a stupid - have to remove the wacom driver and if i want to use my wacom tablet i have to install that again.
sorry but maybe you should communicate with each other.

It seems your windows installation uses the wrong driver for your 3D Mouse.
You can try to delete the following registry key which contains this information:
First export and then delete the appropriate Registry entry for the SpaceNavigator:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\Vid_046d&Pid_c626
Then reconnect your SpaceNavigator - it should now be correctly recognized. Does this work?
