The current application doesn't show up in the display

Post by magnusnorlund »

I'm using a Spacepilot and somehow the application i'm using doesn't show up on the spacepilots display.
For example in solidworks, it just says Any Application.
But i can configure the buttons and they work as they should.

the same happens i google earth, the display shows Any Application.

I have reinstalled the drivers but that didn't help.

Any suggestions?

Try deleting your saved profiles in
%appdata%/3dconnexion/3dxware/profiles

When SolidWorks is running, can you change to the SolidWorks configuration in the 3DxWare GUI (as opposed to the SolidWorks 3Dx window)? You can get to the 3DxWare GUI from the desktop icon even if the systray icon takes you to the SW 3Dx panel.

Here we might have something,
When i open the 3Dconnexion Control Panel , the drop down menu shows "Internal Error" and if i try to switch to Any Application i get a error message and the driver close.

If i then start the driver again with Solidworks running it working as it should.

There is something seriously wrong with your installation. I suggest you start over from scratch with a fresh 3DxSoftware. No need to touch SolidWorks, just 3DxSoftware.

Make sure you delete your 3Dconnexion registry entries (from HKCU and HKLM) and siappdll.dll and spwini.dll from System32, after you uninstall. If you're not comfortable doing this, then make sure you backup your system before changing anything.

I'm just assuming you are running a standard windows machine with a standard version of the o/s, single user, nothing virtual, have permissions, etc. If not, speak up.

That didn't help, but i found out what caused the problem, I tried out Windowblinds and this software caused the problem.

a workaround is to start the 3dconnexion driver first and then load windowblinds, but i think i will remove the software instead.

Anyway thanks for your help.
