Slow response time with Vericut using SpaceNavigator PE puck

Post by GregM »

We are running Vericut 6.2.2 and the Personal Edition pucks. We have about 30 users with these units. We upgraded to the PE pucks when we upgraded our Solidworks software to v2009 since the 3003 and 4000 spaceballs were no longer supported. We also use CGTECH's Vericut software. After the update we have found the the PE pucks have a very slow response time to manipulate the models on-screen. We have loaded the drivers 3-7-18. Any ideas as to why the slow response time?

Depending on how old a software version you upgraded from, your users may have old config files laying around. Delete all the saved .scg files in %appdata%/3dconnexion/3dxware/profiles.

Also, the default scale factors are deliberately set lower then they used to be. You may want to adjust them in the GUI.

Okay, I deleted all the SCG files and opened a new Vericut project file. The only motion within Vericut using the SpaceNavigator PE is up and down, pushing the controller down towards the table top or up, pulling it. Try to move the model any other direction and there is no response.

Had to change the configuration setting to "all applications" and now it works.

Thanks. :D
