Creo Parametric: unwanted spin symbol

I'm using a SpaceNavigator (FW4.36) and recently upgraded to Creo Parametric 3.0 M140. (I was previously using M100). After the upgrade, I'm getting a new, unwanted behavior when I zoom/pan/rotate with the Space Navigator: It shows a diamond-shaped symbol at the spin center, which does not go away once I'm done with the maneuver. This is the same symbol that appears when you maneuver with the center mouse button, but when you use the mouse, it disappears as soon as you're done moving.

I just updated to the latest driver (10.5.3) but the behavior didn't change. It's not the end of the world, but definitely distracting and annoying.

Any thoughts?

this is a new feature in Creo. But what we are missing is the possibility to disable that the spin center is shown. We have opened a bug report at PTC for this. The case number at PTC is #13879244.
