Customize axes in Pro-E WF3

Post by griffinb »

Hi,

My Space Navigator is working properly. However the Roll and Spin axes would be more intuitive if they were switched. When I swivel the knob left or right I intuitively expect the part to spin about an axis parralel to the screen pointing through the top of my monitor, but the reality is it spins about the axis perpendicular to the screen point out.

Is there any way to customize which motions control which axes? If not, that is highly disappointing and should be a feature in future driver updates.

Choice of two different zoom directions.

Dear griffinb,

In the 3Dconnexion Control Panel (Start, All Programs, 3Dconnexion, 3Dconnexion 3DxWare), under the 'Device Configuration' Tab, you have choice of two zoom directions. See if the second zoom direction doesn't accomplish what you seek.

Sincerely,
Bryan

No that doesn't help. I'm talking about the ROLL and SPIN axes.

No spin difference experienced in either zoom mode?

Post by Bryan »

Dear griffinb,

When I have the green zoom mode selected, my spin seems to spin my model around an axis pointing out of the screen toward me.

When I have blue zoom mode selected, my spin seems to spin my model around an axis pointing up and down parallel to the screen face.

But I take it, you're only experiencing spin around the axis pointing out of the screen, no matter what zoom mode you have selected.

Sincerely,
Bryan
