Solidworks Crashes when closing part window

My solidworks was fine until I added the 3Dconnexion space navigator. I can work with an assembly, open a separate part window, work on the part but after I save the part and then upon closing the part window, solidworks crashes.
It is very frequent. It appears to be correlated with memory use because if I open and close a window after a fresh start it is okay but after 10-30 minutes of work, it will almost always crash when I close out the windows or sometimes upon PDM part check-in.
I removed the driver and solidworks is now fine.
3DxSoftware32_v3-10-1_r852 Windows XP SP3.0 Solidworks 2008 Premium SP5.0

With all applications closed.
Open the 3DControl panel and click calibrate.
then push OK.
This should rezero the device (Doesnt show any display it does it behind the scene).
