UG NX4 problem

Post by Vhalar »

Hello,

Recently, I had a lot of problem if my SpacePilot since I tried to map some user define functions on the buttons.

First, everything was ok. But when I launched UG next time, the Spacepilot comportment was odd. The motion was similar if dominant axis setting was on. So I checked if this option have been turned on, but it wasn't.

I tried to switched on/off a lot of options in the driver for a long time without being able to restore my initial settings. Later, the motion came back to normal (I don't know why). But all my user functions were screwed:
They remained selected in the button mapping tab, but their name changed to blank. Ex: "Static wireframe " became " "

So, sadly, I decided to don't map the buttons. But, a new problem appeared:

If I use something outside NX, the driver prompt me to save my settings. The first time, I choose ok. But the annoying popup appear each time I go outside NX.

For example: I am in NX, and I want to visit a web page, or opening a doc file, and so on. Then, the window appear. See picture below:

Another thing: randomly the SpacePilot do not power up during workstation boot. Any clues?

System information:

Release version: 3.5.6
Driver version: 6.5.5
Firmware version: 3.12
Plugin installed: office, autocad, nx 4, photoshop, pro engineer

Windows version: Windows XP SP3

ps: in NX the 3DxNX Button mapping and device settings are grayed. i saw the Technical support post, so I will give it a try.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Mickaël

I would suggest perfroming a clean install of the 3D driver.
The link below has the steps.

Hi Vhalar,

it seems you have a rather old driver version. I recommend to download the latest one that is available for your 3D mouse.

Hi,

According to your post, I opened a request to our computer department, since I don't have the rights to install drivers myself.

I will report here if everythings will be ok when it will be done.

Thanks for your support.
