Keeping Custom Button Configurations

Post by JCrilly »

I am having trouble keeping my custom button configurations. I have the USB SpaceExplorer for using with Inventor 2011. My drivers and Inventor Service Packs are all up-to-date. (OS : Win 7 64bit)

I set the buttons to do what I want (I reset most of the buttons to do something different), and save the profile. "Automatically Save Configurations" is also checked in the Options menu.

Every time I close and re-open Inventor, the default settings return and the profile I created also has the default settings.

Is there a step I am missing?

Hi JCrilly,

the 3DxInventor add-in provides a button mapping editor within Inventor. This should normally open if you press the Panel button on your device.

Do you have the 3DxInventor add-in loaded? (Go to Tools -> Add-Ins and check if 3DxInventor is in the list.)

The button mapping editor overwrites the button configuration from the 3Dconnexion Control Panel.

Thanks uludwig. That was what I needed.

I just had to re-load the 3DxInventor add-in and was able to permanently customize the buttons.
