Outlook mail, space pilot pro, configure, how?
Hi guys,
We have a number of the Space Pilot pro's here and none of us seem to be able to get the outlook mail, calendar and tasks to work on the screen. We can get the RSS, pictures and functions to work but it would be kinda handy if we could get the whole thing to work.
Operating systems is Win 7 64 Bit.
Not too sure if it will make any difference but we are running catia v5 R18, Solidworks 2010, ansys mainly.
Any ideas on how to get them all working? Any advice would be good.
Thanks
Danny

What version of Outlook?
Outlook 2003, 2007 will work.
2010 is not supported.
No applets have been made for the newer Version.
If your running 2007, 2003, open the lcd manager
right click on the icon in the task bar click settings
Click programs
Choose Outlook mail, calendar and task.
Make sure both check boxes are enabled.

I've tried that and all the boxes are enabled.Fred wrote:What version of Outlook?

Ah yes, sorry i failed to mention that we are all running Outlook 2007.
Yep i've checked the processes that are running and all the ones that you have mentioned are working.
When i try to use the "pilot" to open any of the applications i get the message saying that the Outlook not found, or not running. When to me, the file path seems fine and it is certainly running.
Thanks
Danny

Hi Danny,
were the tests made with different users? Or just your username on different machines?
When you are logged in are you a standard user or an administrator? Is the driver started by the same user?
Please check the taskmanager for the owner of the processes (outlook.exe, 3dxsrv.exe and the above mentioned applets).
Is Outlook installed locally? Or are you starting it from within any software distribution environment?

Re: Outlook mail, space pilot pro, configure, how?
You should have 3DxWare 10.x installed. Then you can scoll up and down in Outlook and Excel.
The applets are only for the SpacePilot Pro's display, but not for the usage of the 3D mouse in Outlook.
You can as well map any keyboard shortcuts to a button of the 3D mouse. See the help file for more information about mapping buttons.

Re: Outlook mail, space pilot pro, configure, how?
I have SpaceExplorer not SpacePilot.
Driver 6.17.6
Firmware 4.31
Is 3DxWare 10 for Windows (64-bit) compatible with SpaceExplorer ? SpaceExplorer seems to be a discontinued product.

Hi tolga,
do you have the latest version of 3DxWare 10 installed? (3DxWare 10.2.1) If you open the driver panel (3D Mouse Home -> Properties) you can see the application that the driver recognizes. If you open Microsoft Outlook for example, do you see it written in the properties window?
(I tried a SpaceExplorer with 3DxWare 10.2.1 on my machine with Outlook 2013 and I can scroll down and up.)

Re: Outlook mail, space pilot pro, configure, how?
I currently have a SapcePilot PRO (firmware v. 4.11) running on a 64 bit Windows 7 system with 3DxWare 10.2.1 and 3DxWinCore 17.2.1.11058.
I have been trying to use the applet to show when I receive new e-mails and view my calendar with Outlook 2013 (15.0.4535.1004). I have a number of e-mail accounts attached to my outlook as well as various calendars but the applet seems to just pick one (and not my default). is there a way to choose the account the SpacePilot will recognize?

Re: Outlook mail, space pilot pro, configure, how?
Hi srnyberg,
unfortunately I do not have experience with more than one account in Outlook, but as far as I know there is no possibility to configure this. I assume it takes either the first account or the one that is set as default.
