LCD not working

Post by jk86racing »

So I just bought this unit (Space Pilot Pro) a few days ago and when I first started it up everything worked fine and I was happy and excited. Come today I turn the unit on and the LCD does not work. It lights up and I can sort of see a back ground image of the function key symbol and stuff but its almost whited out. Has anyone seen this before? Is the unit bad or is there something that got messed up with the software or drivers?

Hi jk86racing,

There is a known issue (see this topic) where the LCD does not return to normal operation after returning from hibernation or sleep mode.

When you next see the problem, terminate the "LCDMon.exe" process and restart it (Start menu -> All Programs -> Logitech -> Logitech LCD Manager) and see if normal operation is restored.

Thank you for your reply.

I have also tried the unit on a different machine with the same issue. I have removed the files and tried again with the same results.

Hi jk86racing,

does this mean the LCD doesn't work at all now? Did it only show up correctly at the very first beginning? What happened between the last correct picture and the first failure?

The LCD still works. Its still showing a "whited out" screen. You can just make out the images on it. The only thing that happened between it working and then being "whited out" is I unplugged the unit which the computer was still running.

Please do the following:
  1. stop the driver (right click to the 3Dconnexion icon in the system tray and select "Exit)
  2. wait until the icon of the Logitech LCD Manager disappeared, too
  3. unplug the device
  4. re-plug it and watch what you can then see on the LCD
  5. wait a while until the word "Initializing" disappears
  6. start the driver (Start -> All Programs -> 3Dconnexion -> Driver -> Start Driver)
  7. what do you see now on the LCD?
Let me know your results.
