When I attempt to import settings using the 3Dcontrol menu from Solidworks 2010/ 2011 64 bit on Windows 7 I get the following.
"Error processing the 3Dcontrol settings file.
Please contact 3Dconnexion support.
System message (1314): A required privilege is not held by the client."
I tried running SW as an administrator, but then the entire 3Dcontrol menu is grayed out.
I've used the latest 3dcontrol driver for both importing and exporting the settings.
The settings were exported from SW 2010 64 bit on Windows Vista.
Is there an alternative way to import 3dconnexion settings?

Hello con,
sorry for the problems you have. This is a known issue and we are tracking it with the internal bug number #4353.
If you feel comfortable with this you can try the following workaround:
a possible workaround is to add the user to the groups "Backup
Operators" or "Adminstrators". Another is to add the user (or a group it
belongs) is part of the "Back up files and directories" policy.
Note: If you run SWX as administrator you have to run the 3D mouse driver as well as administrator.

Thanks for the response,
Tried running the driver and SW as admin, but I get the following;
"Error processing the 3Dcontrol settings file.
Please contact 3Dconnexion support.
System message (1017: The system has attempted to
load or restore a file into the registry, but the specified
file is not in a registry file format."
I might try the editing the groups later.
