How to stop 3DConnexion from launching automatically with Word 2003?

I don't use my 3D device right now yet the driver keeps on launching, even with something like Word 2003. I don't even know why it would launch for Word 2003. There seems to be no setting to control what programs it automatically launches itself on. For a design program like Sketchup it makes sense. I don't want to uninstall 3DConnexion as I use it from time to time. I just hate things that run unnecessarily in the background. Like seeing a light left on for no reason.

And its not only Word 2003. It sometimes launches itself when other programs start. I just want to be able to control when it launches.

When applications launch, they may trigger a driver start. In some cases, you can disable 3D mouse support by configuring the application or removing plug-ins (modifying the installation of 3DxWare 10).

Any idea how to do that in Word 2003?
The 3DConnexion driver of course has no such options. Brilliant! How a software designer cannot think of including this just boggles the mind. Obviously we want to control when its running. I guess their egos make them think that we are so in love with this program we want it running all the time; we can't wait even a couple of seconds for it to load when we need it. For most modern computers, probably less than a second to load!

You say "configuring the application" yet I see no configuration of any sort in the driver. To say its "spartan" would be the understatement of the year. How about "devoid of startup options"?

You can change the installation through the Programs & Features section in Control Panel.

Well of course I can remove the 3DConnexion program but as I use it occasionally that doesn't really solve my problem does it?

I truly cannot believe there is not Edit option. What century is 3DConnexion in when they do that??? Wake up! Its 2022 not 1992.
OK - I see there's a Change option in Programs and Features. I'm going to uncheck all the addons for programs I wouldn't eve use with it.
Normally I just use Programs and Features for uninstalling. This is great.

Relaunch the 3DxWare driver installer, deselect the 3Dconnexion plug-in for Microsoft Office option.

Or use 7-zip archive manager to extract the 3DxMSOffice64.msi installer, right click 3DxMSOffice64.msi and click uninstall.

If you click on the program in Programs & Features, beside the uninstall option, there is a 'change' option. You can then select the components and click modify.
