Maya 2012 bug

Post by Keithlostracco »

I recently installed Maya 2012 and have had some strange problems with parameter fields flickering, the main window top bar flickering, not being able to change parameters and not being able select different tabs in the attribute editor other than the tab for the object selected.

I finally unplugged my spacepilot pro today and the problem went away. So I installed the newest official driver (I was running the beta) and I still had the problem. I then changed some of the Maya 3dconnexion menu settings and found when I select camera mode rather than target camera mode the problem went away. After that I reinstalled the beta driver and there was still no problem with camera mode, just with target camera mode.

I have no problem using camera mode but I thought I would post to let you guys know anyways. Also it might not be a 3dConnexion bug it might be a Maya bug I know 2012 had/has tons of bugs.

cheers

I can confirm the same behaviour with Maya 2012 SAP x64. I tried everything to get rid of this bug. It seems that the only fix is don't use the device at all or disable target camera mode.

This is a real shame because it's really akward in maya to not use target camera mode. I hope this can get resolved.

I am also having the same problem. I did some invesigating and target camera worked fine in a simple scene with only a cube. I could manipulate the cube in target camera mode and change parameters without a problem.

I then started a new scene and loaded a more complex mesh (10,000 polys), I could change parameters initally but after I moved the mesh around in target camera mode the parameters begain flickering and I could no longer enter parameters. Changing to camera mode does stop the flickering and allow you to change parameters again but this really isn't a suitable work around.

I am using Maya 2011 x64 service pack 1
Space Navigator Release Version 3.15.2 Driver version 6.15.2 Firmware version 4.20
