Disable mouse just for DraftSight

Post by Kasprzap »

I only use draftsight for some 2D work, so I'd like to disable 3d spinning of my 2D files or just disabling the mouse completely just for this application would suffice. How can I do this?

By far the easiest way to do that is to turn off the Rotation axes in the 3DxSmartUI GUI. Or all of them if you wish.
There are ways to Ignore the app, but that involves manual XML file editing.

Thanks for the reply. Do I need to download new software as I do not know where to find 3DxSmartUI GUI? What I am aware of is in my screenshot.
If I do what you suggest, will I need to switch that off and on as I need it on to work in solidworks? I jump between the two softwares very often and this would not be ideal to have to switch it on and off as I switch softwares?

The GUI is known as "3Dconnexion Properties" in the start menu. There is normally also a button on most devices that brings up the GUI.

If you turn off those axes while DraftSight is running (the GUI will show DraftSight at the top), it will only effect DraftSight. The Solidworks behavior will not be changed.
