Windows 10 Cinema 4D

Post by Powel »

Since the Update to C4D 2023.2 the space mouse is only causing troubles.

I really love the product and can´t work without it anymore. Which makes it even more anoying when it is not working.

1. When working in R21 everything is still fine.

2. In 2023.2 I need to keep the 3Dx Settings open all the time. Sometimes it is changing the settings from Object to Camera Mode. Then I have to switch back.

2. every couple of minutes, the sensitivity is uptra high. It is impossible to navigate through the scene. Then I have to switch to different viewports, and it starts behaving normal again.

3. the morst frustrating one is, when loading bigger objects in the scene, as soon as I touch the mouse, Cinema crashes. when moving with the normal 1,2,3 keys, everything works fine.

4. with bigger scenes, there is a 1 second delay on the mouse, when it starts moving or rotating. every time I want to use it.

Any chance on having this fixed?
It is really costing me a lot of time restarting cinema all the time. Especially when it is working flawless in R21...

Stick with Cinema4D R21 if the SpaceMouse device is so crucial for you, wait for another driver update.

That is not really an option, as I am using a lot of the new features in Cinema.

Additionally, there is one more thing that changed, which makes it impossible to use on specific scenes.

For example.
A scene wit a aircraft in the scene center, and a huge landscape underneath.
Even when selecting the aircraft to move the camera around, it is somehow using the scale of the landscape as a reference, which makes it ultra sensitive for movement of the camera.
Its impossible to slowly move around in the scene.

People at MAXON don't bother to invest time integrating 3Dconnexion 3DxWare SDK API into Cinema 4D's software code, because only a small percentage of the C4D users are 3Dconnexion devices users/owners, investing high-wage software programmers' working hours into supporting third-party hardware won't generate a good return of investment. People at MAXON are seeking real profits, not customer satisfaction from a small user base.
