Toggle zoom direction when editing a sketch in Fusion 360?

Post by cowboy »

Is there any way to toggle zoom direction to "up/down" when editing a sketch in Fusion 360, but return it to "forward/backward" everywhere else? Either automatically or via button press? I can go into the Space Mouse settings to toggle it each time I need to, but it's not really great to have to go menu diving.

Thanks!

In Fusion 360, there is no automatic zoom direction choice for sketch editing vs other activities. Combining tactics will help you handle this problem better:

1. Command/shortcut customization:
Fusion 360 shortcuts: Unfortunately, Fusion 360 cannot directly specify zoom directions for modes. However, customizing keyboard shortcuts for commands may speed up your process. For instance, you may shortcut view commands or other activities to speed your procedure.

In 3Dconnexion software, you may establish various profiles for different applications or activities. Fusion 360 doesn't offer mode-specific zoom settings, but you may create unique profiles for different jobs. Manually switching profiles requires some manual involvement.

2. Adjust Space Mouse Settings: Manual Toggle: Toggle zoom directions in 3Dconnexion settings. You might add a toggle button to 3Dconnexion settings to simplify this. Users may apply custom buttons or shortcuts in 3Dconnexion settings to alter modes or configurations.
3. Fusion360 ViewCube and Navigation Tools:
Use ViewCube: For accurate view control when drawing, use Fusion 360's ViewCube and navigation tools. This doesn't change zoom direction, but it gives other options to adjust the view.
