I am trying to use a SpaceNavigator PE controller with a MacBook Pro M1 Max running macOS 14.6. I have downloaded the latest 3Dconnexion Installer app: 3DxWareMac_v10-8-6_r3819. I ran the Installer app(.dmg). I have gone to Privacy & Security item within System Settings to unblock the 3DconnexionHelper by "Allowing" it to load.
After the install, 3DconnexionHelper is shown in the Input Monitoring part of Privacy & Security list. The name 3Dconnexion is at the bottom of the left column list under System Settings. I checked the "Login Items" list under General within System Settings and 3Dconnexion S.A.M. shows up under the title "Allow in the Background". The slider switch after . . . S.A.M. name is switched to ON.
Within System Settings, I clicked 3Dconnexion and ran it. At the top of the 3Dconnexion app's window are 6 buttons and I selected Tools. Within Tools, I can run the two Demos on my Mac touching the SpaceNavigator controller, so I know it seems to be working. But none of my other 3D apps on the Mac receives the control's data output, so other apps do not work. I have Restarted the Mac, uninstalled 3DxWare, re-installed 3DxWare, plugged and unplugged the USB cable to the SpaceNavigator with no results. I'm puzzled. What step have I missed in activating my controller with other apps other than its own.
The following three apps USE to operate on a previous MacBook Pro.
Cheetah 3D
Firestorm Viewer
Live Home 3D Pro
