KVM Interference 3Dconnexion process

Post by printsmith3d »

Hi all,

Just bought Spacemouse Wireless and upon installing the latest version 10.9.3 I'm getting constant issues with interference with my TESmart Dual Monitor KVM (https://www.tesmart.com/products/hks202 ... 1154&_ss=r) which I use to switch between my personal desktop and my work laptop (both running Windows 11). I have a mouse, keyboard, headset and 3dconnexion dongle connected to the KVM in additon to both of my monitors. I plan on using the spacemouse for both Fusion360 and PTC Creo Parametric. On both devices when the 3Dconnexion process is running, I get a USB Composite Device consistently connecting and disconnecting every 2-3 seconds, causing the spacemouse to stutter and not function, not to mention the infuriating beeping of a device constantly connecting/disconnecting.

I can use the spacemouse just fine when my laptop is not connected to my KVM, and I don't get any of the weird symptoms of connecting/disconnecting either.

I'm assuming there is some sort of interference with my KVM and the driver or program running the spacemouse, but I can't seem to fix this issue and find out why it is happening. I tried installing 10.8.3 and I get the same issue, and installing 10.7.4 caused issues where CREO couldn't connect to the 3DxWare software.

Has anyone encountered such issues? After searching the forums and the web I'm not quite sure where to go from here.

The systems mess with the USB device.
I don't know a solution to set the priority for only 1 system.

I'd suggest to either use the personal notebook or the work notebook.
A new SpaceMouse Wireless connects via Bluetooth, cable and the Universal Receiver.
Even with an older device model you could easily connect to both notebooks: insert the Receiver to an USB port of notebook A and use the SpaceMouse in wired mode with Notebook B.
The 3DxWare driver can be stopped and restarted at any time.
