Is my spacemouse defective?

Post by mikeoliver »

Using the spacemouse wireless (BT), MACOS (Sequoia 15.5, Mac Mini M4), all drivers updated, MAC restarted (2 times). Here is _possibly_ the issue:

In the trainer, all DOF's work *except* "Pan U/D" on the teacup. Whether I press up or down, the teacup goes down.

Ran 3DxSNAxisDemo.app, and the X axis (in dominant mode) does seem to change from negative to positive values. So, it seems like the correct signals are being sent in to the application.

I am primarily using this in FreeCAD (using v 1.0.1). After finally figuring out that you have to enable it in Preferences first (under Navigation), and restart (FreeCAD), then go to Tools | Customize, and click on Spaceball Motion - I got to the settings - and they also did not work in default format. Spent a while futzing with them, and now, the device seems to perfectly function in FreeCAD. My setting are below. I could only get the Pan to work in Dominant mode.

The device is really nice, A+ in design.

I *think* the hardware is fine - wondering if there is some issue with the trainer Pan U/D? All of the DOF work in trainer. Due to the Pan issue, it is impossible for me to complete the game as you cannot move the object up. So, I am just practicing in FreeCAD.
