Suggestion: Vertical version of the CadMouse Pro Wireless

Post by MatthiasKaps »

Hello everyone,

I’ve been using the CadMouse Pro Wireless for many years now and I’m really happy with its precision, build quality, and the 3-button + scroll wheel setup. However, after longer sessions I start noticing strain in my wrist.

That’s why I’d love to see an ergonomic (vertical) version of the CadMouse Pro Wireless, featuring:
- the same technical specifications (precision, drivers, battery life, etc.)
- the same 3-button + scroll wheel concept
- a vertical, wrist-friendly design similar to established ergonomic mice.

This would combine the strengths of the CadMouse with a much healthier hand posture – a real benefit for anyone working in CAD environments for many hours a day.

Are there any plans or interest from 3Dconnexion to develop such a model?

Best regards,
Matthias Kaps

I wanted to add my voice to Matthias's request. I have been a Vertical Mouse user for over 15 years to manage wrist issues. I recently tried the CadMouse Pro Wireless because I was desperate for that dedicated middle button, but I unfortunately had to return it.

The Issue: For those of us with chronic RSI or wrist pain, the "slanted" ergonomics of the current CadMouse (approx. 20°) simply isn't enough. I have been using the Evoluent VerticalMouse for years because its true 90° "handshake" position is the only thing that keeps me pain-free. However, the Evoluent lacks the professional-grade CAD features and the specific "3-button" feel that 3Dconnexion is known for.

The Solution:
If 3Dconnexion released a true Vertical version (50°–60° or higher) of the CadMouse, it would be the ultimate professional tool.

Why the middle button matters: Clicking a scroll wheel all day for panning/orbiting is a nightmare for finger tendons.

Why verticality matters: For long-term users like me, a standard mouse—even an "ergonomic" slanted one—is no longer an option.

I am currently "stuck" with other brands while waiting for 3Dconnexion to combine their superior button layout with a truly vertical chassis. I would buy a Vertical CadMouse the moment it hit the shelves.

Are there any plans to bridge the gap between your CAD-specific buttons and a full vertical ergonomic design?

Just wanted to add another +1 to this request. A vertical version of the CadMouse Pro would be the undisputed king of productivity and ergonomics.
Just please don't forget the lefties...

Not economically viable so far.
