SpaceMouse suddenly drifts on its own after long idle time

Post by simoneashley »

Hey everyone, Skyler here. I’ve been using my SpaceMouse Pro for about a year with no issues, but lately it’s started behaving oddly: whenever I leave my workstation idle for 15-20 mins, the cursor or 3D view begins slowly drifting even though I’m not touching the device. It’s subtle at first, but keeps going until I unplug and reconnect it. Restarting 3DxWare doesn’t fix it, and I’ve noticed it happens more often since the last firmware update. I’ve cleaned the cap and checked for mechanical stickiness, but it feels perfectly smooth. Has anyone else seen their SpaceMouse start to drift like this after sitting idle? I’m curious if it’s a firmware calibration bug or something with the power management on Windows 11.
