annoying issue with 3d space mouse

Post by NicoM »

hi there :)

please see the attached file (3ds Max).

when I "Z" on the sofa to zoom/center it, then switch views (top, right, etc.), and go back to perspective view, the blue focus point is still miles away, from another dimension, staring blankly at the sofa with its little supid eyes ^^

why does this happen?! (honestly, it’s just a simple sofa, I’m 100% sure about the modeling....it even happens with a simple box, look !)

(using Max 2024 / latest drivers installed)

best regards,
Nicolas

ps : I’ve already reported so many issues with this device…3D Connexion, give me back my money !

Perhaps this is the reason:
Using Selection Center to rotate around vertices in 3ds Max 2024 behaves different to previous versions

They could make things much easier for themselves by publishing the source code for the 3dsmax plugin. Then experienced 3dsmax developers would be able so solve all these issues - esp. when AD changes SDK from time to time - even very early, in the beta-phase of the next Max-version.
3dx business is to sell devices and not software, or???

Hi NicoM

Does this happens also with other applications?

I can't reproduce this with your scenario.
I use firstly Z, later change the view in 3DsMax to Top/Right and after that switch back to perspective.
