3Dconnexion Keyboard Pro – Critical Issue on macOS

Post by adrwin »

I purchased the dedicated 3Dconnexion Keyboard Pro with Numpad to complement my SpaceMouse Enterprise setup.
Unfortunately, I’m encountering a critical issue on macOS that makes normal work impossible.
Hardware and Software Configuration
• Computer: MacBook Pro M2 (Apple Silicon)
• OS: macOS Tahoe 26.3
• Device: 3Dconnexion Keyboard Pro with Numpad (wired USB-C)
• Installed Driver:
• 3DxWare 10
• 3DxMacCore version 1.4.3.608 (608)
• 3DxWare version 10.8.12 (3901)
Problem Description
After connecting the keyboard, the following errors occur:
1. Key Repeating: When typing at normal speed, the keyboard registers the same key multiple times (e.g., pressing “a” once types “aaaa”), despite a single keystroke.
2. Ghost Input (NumLock): In online keyboard testers (e.g., keyboard-test.space), the system registers a brief NumLock key press every time any key is released.
3. Persists After Uninstall: The problem reappears even after twice properly uninstalling the driver (via the official uninstaller in  /Applications/3Dconnexion ) and restarting the system.
Important Note – Problem Isolation
• This issue does NOT occur on Ubuntu (Linux) – the keyboard works perfectly there, with no key repeating and no ghost input.
• The problem is exclusive to macOS, indicating an incompatibility between 3DxWare 10.8.12 and macOS Tahoe 26.3 on Apple Silicon.
I’m looking for a solution that restores full keyboard functionality (programmable macros, backlighting, numpad) rather than just basic HID operation.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
