Using Windows 7 x64 with SpaceMouse Pro. Last week I changed form Wildfire 4 to Wildfire 5/Creo Elements. At the same time, I bumped the space mouse driver from 3DxSoftware64_v3-15-2_r1219 to 3DxSoftware64_v3-16-1_r1342.
Overall the performance seems worse (slower chunky movement with large models), needing to activate the ProE window before the mouse will work, etc, but most importantly, it seems to have lost the ability detect (and remember button mapping profiles) between Sketcher, Part, Assembly, and Drafting modes.
Does anybody know if this is a result of the driver upgrade or ProE upgrade?

First, check that you are mapping the buttons in the correct editor - the one inside Creo.
Buttons mapped in 3Dconnexion Properties are overwritten with default mappings from the 3DxCreo editor when Creo restarts. Mapping done in the 3DxCreo editor is saved to your profile.
On the SpaceMouse Pro the 'Menu' button opens the 3DxCreo popup menu. There is a 'Customize Buttons' option in the popup menu that opens the 3DxCreo editor. This editor has 2 columns - Command categories on the left and Available Commands on the right and has commands specific to Creo rather than the general commands in the 3Dconnexion Properties editor.
With a file open in Creo, if you are not seeing the popup menu when you press the 'Menu' button, the button may have been re-mapped. You can check what the button is mapped to on the 3Dconnexion Properties Button Mapping tab. Choose 'PopUp' or 'Application panel' from the drop-down list or use Options-Restore All Defaults to return to the original button mappings for Creo.
If you are already using this editor and not seeing button mapping saved , that would mean there is some data corruption in a profile or registry key. The clean install steps can correct that.
If Creo is installed on a server a few changes are needed for the 3DxCreo add-in. See the faq here.

You can manually start the driver before staring Creo or copy the 'Start Driver' shortcut to your Windows Startup folder. [Start, All Programs, 3Dconnexion, Driver, Start Driver] Leaving the 'Start 3DxWare ...' option in the installer checked adds the command 'Start 3DxWare' to your Startup folder [Start, All Programs,Startup]
