Spacenavigator Acad2013 windows7
Hi people,
I have an Issue with my Spacenavigator and my new workstation.
I run AutoCAD 2013 on a windows 7 machine.
When I zoom in far with my spacenavigator It gets far too sensitive, when I move a bit or zoom a bit it moves way too much, it gets useless and frustrating!
What can I do to cure this
Thanks a lot!

Re: Spacenavigator Acad2013 windows7
Dear HaroldSchans,
Autocad has a 'hotfix' for their latest applications having trouble making proper use of 3Dconnexion devices.
It may be found at this url.
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps ... ID=9240618
They make available two different downloads.
One for 32 bit systems and one for 64 bit systems.
They also have a read-me file with complete instructions.
It describes the problems that may be resolved and applications that these problems may be resolved in.
It procedure is basically that of replacing an installed file of theirs with a file in the download, after upgrading the applications service pack.
Sincerely,
Bryan
I have copied and pasted from their website below, but make sure you actually read the lastest instructions they have posted for their software.

Autodesk 3Dconnexion Hotfix
This hotfix corrects the following issues with 3Dconnexion devices:
Zoom speed varies in perspective view
Pivot point position is far from the model causing the model to go off the drawing area when rotated
High zoom out speed after zooming in a small area of the drawing
Consult the readme file for installation instructions and more details on the primary issues resolved by this update. Be sure to install the correct hotfix (32-bit or 64-bit) for your software and operating system.
Note: Before applying this hotfix to your Autodesk product, you must install service pack 1 (or SP1.1 for AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT).

Re: Spacenavigator Acad2013 windows7
I was terribly wrong... my spacenavigator still hates Acad.
Sometimes it seemes to go well, but after a short while the spacenavigator goes mad and zooming or turning smoothly with it is almost impossible.
It zoomes much to fast, in a fraction of a second your drawing goes from fully zoomed out to just a pinpoint.
Sometimes I think that when de drawing is larger (more lines, more hatches) the spacenavigator cannot handle it and looses it's mind.
I work with Design Suite 2013, where should I replace the Acvmtools.crx file?
Where should this file be? Can there be more then one?
Sometime it seemes to go wel, and then at once it goes mad...
Can it switch between more .crx files?
Still not happy with it...
My machine:
HP Z420
CPU Intel Xeon E5-1620 3,6 Ghz
RAM 12 GB DDR3
HDD 240 GB SSD
NVIDIA Quadro 4000 (2GB)
OS Windows 7 Professional 64-bits
I hope someone can help me out...

Hello Harold,
could you please send me the PID of your device in a private message?
When the SpaceNavigator "goes mad" could you please start the 3Dconnexion Viewer (from 3D Mouse Home) and check if you have the same problems there?

@UtaSH: I will send you the PID soon.
I'm not sure what you mean with "3Dconnexion viewer" nore where to find it.
If I look in my program Files/3Dconnexion/3Dconnecion 3DxSoftware folder I see a lot of sub-folders:
"3DxAutoCAD200864"
"3DxAutoCAD200964"
"3DxAutoCAD201064"
"3DxInventor64"
"3DxMaya864"
"3DxMaya8564"
"3DxMaya200864"
"3DxMaya200964"
"3DxNX464"

"3DxPhotoshopCS464"
"3DxProEBGINEERWF364"
"3DxProEBGINEERWF464"

"3DStudio964"
"3DStudio200864"
"3DStudio200964"
"3DStudio201064"
"3DxWare64"
Can I delete the folders which refer to programms I don't use?
Can I delete the older AutoCAD folders (864 / 964)?
Could these different folders be (part of) the problem?
Thanks in Advance

Re: Spacenavigator Acad2013 windows7
Hello Harold,
I don't think these folders are the reason for the problem. Please do not delete them. You can do a clean-up and re-installation as described here. And when you are re-installing un-select every plugin that you don't need. Note: for AutoCAD 2013 you do not need a plugin from 3Dconnexion. Only the driver is needed. Our current release version of the driver is 3DxSoftware 3.16.3 and can be downloaded here.
Please lete me know if the clean-up solves the problem.
The 3Dconnexion Viewer can be launched from the 3D Mouse Home or with Start -> All Programs -> 3Dconnexion -> Demos -> Viewer.
(Thanks for sending the PID. I just wanted to know how old your device is.)

Re: Spacenavigator Acad2013 windows7
I am new to the forum but have been using 3D Connexion products for many years with SolidWorks with very little issue. I recently took on a new position where we use AutoCAD LT 2013. I brought in my Space Pilot Pro, downloaded the drivers and ran install.
The space Pilot does not operate in AutoCAD LT 2013 at all. I looked at the Help file in ACAD and it says that 3D mice are enabled through the "NAVBAR"
The NAVBAR will not display in ACAD, I beleive that the response is command not available or unknown.
I have installed the 1.2 update for ACAD anf the .CRX hotfix as well. Both of these we done ater the Space Pilot Driver were installed.
Running Win 7 32 bit.
Any ideas are appreciated.
Thanks for your tme!

Gazo,
Autodesk added support natively for our devices.
The Navbar is part of Autocad.
Contact Autodesk and ask them how to enable the navbar in the LT version.
