Spacepilot Pro - LCD display

Post by Scott Stubbington »

Hello,
Does anyone else suffer with their LCD not displaying the correct button assignments?

I am using Inventor 2013 and I have re-assigned buttons to functions I want, however the situation I am facing is that the LCD is displaying a mixture of assembly functions and drawing functions, some of the other button assignments aren't showing what so ever yet all buttons still function correctly according to their assignment.

In order to re-assign buttons, I fill all the buttons with no functionality to begin with, obviously the LCD then shows no assignment, then over time I re-assign the buttons with functions I use more often.

Thanks

Scott

Hello Scott -

For the SpacePilot PRO buttons to be correctly saved to your profile they should be mapped in the 3DxInventor Button Editor rather than in the 3Dconnexion Properties window.

When Inventor is opened with the 3DxInventor add-in installed you should see the 3DMouse News window open inside Inventor showing the popup menu that opens from the SpacePilot PRO 'Menu' button. 'Customize buttons' from the pop-up menu opens the 3DxInventor editor.

If 3DxInventor is installed but the Menu button does not open the pop-up menu when an Inventor document is open , the Menu button may have been re-mapped to a different command. Use Options - Restore all defaults in the 3Dconnexion Properties window to return the pop-up menu to the Menu button.

If you map the buttons only in the 3DxInventor editor and still see a problem with button mapping, there may be some data corruption in a profile or registry key. You can correct that with the clean install steps.

Barbara,
I am incensed by the by your misinterpretation of the problem I am facing and your solution suggesting I am unable to map keys.

I have mapped keys and they function correctly, the LCD display however is not showing the correct mapping.

Hi Scott Stubbington,

From your report, it does appear that there is a software bug somewhere: what you map in Inventor should be an exact match to what you see in the SPP display.

I understand you're using IV2013. Can you please let us know what OS is running on your system and what version of 3DxSoftware is installed?

Hello,
Forgive the the delayed response, this Spacepilot is my personal tool, I don't have one at work.

For your information, I have Windows 7 and 3DxSoftware64SPP_v3-16-2_r1356 installed.

I have used the Spacepilot over the last two weekends significantly and I am no longer seeing a problem.

Humble pie time I think. :D

I am having same problem here, but with proe wf5. I am using win7 64bit. Whent I assign a command in the 3dconnexion menu in proe, the mouse do the action but it does not show
the right command on the lcd. All this happens when I was assigned a new computer. Any solution here?
