Space Pilot Pro LCD Issue with Solid works

Post by johnscott4 »

I am having a issue with my new space pilot pro in Solid Works 2013. After a few days of use the display is entirely black in the function display with exception for the white text. All the shading, text and dividers are gone. Attached is a picture of the problem. In all other modes (not displaying functions) it seems to display correctly. My apologies if this issue has been raised before, I cant find a solution anywhere.

Hello johnscorr4 -

Since the other LCD applets work , the problem would either be in the installation of the Logitech LCD Manager software or in it's settings. There is an applet for each of the LCD functions - so the problem is with the applet controlling the display of mapped buttons.

Since this worked initially when it was installed , try returning to default settings first. Open the Logitech LCD Manager, choose '3DConnexion Space Pilot' from the column on the left to open the Configuration page then click the 'Defaults' button at the bottom. Un-plug the Space Pilot PRO , plug it back in .. you should see 'Initializing...' on the LCD , then re-start the driver [Start |All Programs |3Dconnexion |Driver |Start Driver]

If returning to defaults does not correct the problem, a repair of the software installation is needed. The Logitech Manager software is part of the 3Dconnexion installer package.

Check that you are using the latest released 3Dconnexion software - Rel.3.16.3. The release version is shown in 3Dconnexion Properties under Help|About. The software should be downloaded and saved to your computer rather than run online. If it was initially run from the web or over a network, close your applications then uninstall and run the installer locally.

If it was run locally, run a repair of the software. [Programs and Features - 3Dconnexion - Modify - Repair]

Thanks for the reply. This morning I was about to try repairing/reinstalling the driver when I noticed that it was working again. Not sure what the cause was because I hadn't changed anything but thanks for your help.
