Dear 3DConnexion,
I bought a SpaceMouse Pro last week and I can't get the buttons to work properly at all, which is very annoying. I've been messing around with re-installing drivers, re-assigning buttons etc for two days now and I can't figure it out so any help is very very welcome.
I'm using the mouse in the following software:
- Rhinoceros 4.0
- Mudbox 2015
In both software I want the "undo" and "redo" commands to be buttons 1 and 2, but using the commands in the drop-down lists doesn't work, and neither does adding the software's hotkeys to the macros assigned for button 1 and 2. In fact the only buttons that really seem to work fine are the Menu, Fit and Rot buttons. The rotations using the "joystick" also work fine.
I'm using 3DxWare 10.1.0 for Windows 64bit. My keyboard is Dutch (Belgian), which is similar to the French keyboard - could that have an impact on the hotkeys?
Thanks!
Tom

Re: Buttons not working
Ok I've figured out that changing the command for undo (normally Ctrl+Z), to Ctrl+W works.. W is the key that would normally be located on the spot of my Z key if I were using a QWERTY keyboard.
This means that something strange is going on in the 3DConnexion software because:
1) when I enter the "Z" key in the macro toolbox, 3DConnexion recognizes it as a Z and therefore writes it as a Z, knowing my keyboard is AZERTY.
2) when sending that command to Rhino or Mudbox, 3DConnexion somehow must be sending the wrong letter, presumably W, because the command no longer works.
It must also be doing that for macros that I didn't personally write, since most of the preset hotkeys in the 3DConnexion buttons window don't work; this is an issue because it means that keys like "top view" or "press and hold B" to change brush size in Mudbox, don't work. They're macros that Autodesk has created to work with 3DConnexion, I don't think I can personally alter them.
Any ideas on how to stop 3DConnexion from confusing my keyboard for a QWERTY keyboard?

Re: Buttons not working
Installed 3DxWare version 3.17.8 (driver version 6.17.
and now it works fine.. bit annoying having to install an older version to get proper functionality but OK.. at least it works now.
