Mouse stopped working today

I have a 3d mouse that up until today was working fine. This morning, like every morning since getting a new computer in August, I was told to start the driver when I started my Solid Works application. When I tried I was told a file was missing.????
So I tried to repair the install with no luck. I removed the program and came to the website and tried to D/L and reinstall the latest driver. When I download the file and start the install a warning comes up saying the file is already in use by another application. My only option at that point is to cancel the install.
So how do I get my 3d mouse to work again?
I tried the 32 bit driver as well with the same results.
computer specs:
Windows 7
64 bit

Not sure what else is needed here.

Hi Mark,

I apologize that you encounter problems with your 3D mouse. You already did the corrects steps to solve the issue. But it seems that now the installation has a problem.

You should install the 64bit driver for your 64bit system. Do you know which driver had been installed before you downloaded the newest one? Do you still have that installation package? Try to install that one and see if it works. If this one brings errors too please create log files from the installation as described here.

Let me know what you find out.
