I have had no problems up until the 10.2.0 update...(Windows 7 Pro, service pack 1, 64 bit), the Spacemouse worked like a dream.
After the recent update it now will continue to spin after my hand is off the control, not every time, but about 30% of the time. I have recalibrated multiple times. restarted multiple times...nothing.
I thought maybe it was just going (it's only about 2 years old), but it works perfectly fine in the puzzle/simulator...after a good 10 minutes of playing around, I didn't get any unwanted movement.

OK...I uninstalled the new update and went back to 10.1.4.
It seems to now be acting up in the puzzle simulator also. However...the ONLY unwanted movement is in a CCW rotation? Even when spinning up/down it will pick up a little CCW spin if twisted that direction.
Could the mouse just be going bad after two years of normal daily use?

Re: 10.2.0 Spacemouse Pro erratic spinning Inventor 2015
I understand it was a holiday weekend and all...but technical service that sends one email out a day is kind of not really service at all. I'm in the heat of a multi million dollar design contract and I have a $300 mouse that's bordering on useless.
Tech sent out an email around noon asking me to do a "modify" driver install. I've reinstalled, modified, uninstalled, installed older versions several times prior to this and now it looks like I'm waiting another day for response 2.

Day 1, online support:
So after doing the "modify" install, at the request of online tech supportl...I inform them that it achieved the same result as my other re-installs. None. Still tons of unwanted movement. In fact, it's getting worse. On top of my CCW extra movement...my models will now orbit off into space at rapid speed randomly
Day 2, online support:
Responds...literally telling me how to calibrate the mouse by right clicking the icon in the system tray. That's it. The online support request that's copied in his very email SAYS I have re-calibrated the mouse several times over several different driver installs, both current and archived.
---
Day 1, phone support:
Out of desperation I tried phone support...answered right away, great! But then, it took literally 20 minutes for them to have me check device manager and make sure windows recognized the mouse and to check which driver build I was on....to just tell me they're going to have to pass me onto high level support, but it "might take a while".
Is this even serious? At this level of troubleshooting activity it could takes weeks to determine what the problem is.

Re: 10.2.0 Spacemouse Pro erratic spinning Inventor 2015
I had the same problem with this update. Everything worked fine with the old version, then everything just went crazy after the update.
Got the same mssg.....uninstall the version, not compatible. Problem was.....it wouldn't let me uninstall.
Support send me a 1 page instruction on how to get into registry and uninstall manually. That I did.it took 2 hrs to do so.
I must have installed and un installed about 10 times so far. Everything went down the shitter. Mouse lost power, Couldn't configure the system, a complete mess.
This was working perfectly fine before, mind you.
Finally out of desperation I did a windows trouble shooting run.
Guess what? Windows comes back and tells me this version was only for Win XP.....incompatible with my Win 7 pro.
Now I think that's weak.
Why waste our time and the support teams time with a product that should have been tested before?
I find it hard to believe something like this could happen with a company that's supposed to be cutting edge technology.
Makes me sad.

After about 20 uninstalls and re installs, I finally got it back to work like it did before.
How? I made sure all traces of the old installations where gone out of the whole system. Just to uninstall through Control Panel doesn't do that.
After you uninstalled through Control Panel go back to Start and do a search for 3D. You likely will find some 3D folders that didn't uninstall.
Get rid of these manually. If the folder doesn't let you un install like it wouldn't for me, open the folder up and delete the files one by one. This worked for me.
Next, I did a fresh install off the installation Disk that came with the mouse when I bought it.
Now it's working again like it did before I did that update that screwed everything up.
Hope this helps someone with the same problems.
