In case anyone else comes here wondering. Right now it looks like Shade does support them, but it's purely analog, on/off function, no linear action, so the driver is incomplete. Maybe 3d connexion can help them, cause it sounds like the developers are interested in fixing this, but haven't been abl...

It's autodesk, every other autodesk product pretty much that I know of has 3dconnexion support, it's not like they're some small company that doesn't have the time or doesn't see the potential...why not mudbox?

Was this ever supported? I saw a bunch of people trying to hack into the driver but looks like it never went much of anywhere.

shade 12

I'm trying out the translated version of the Japanese program Shade 12. It has a lot of interesting features. It also apparently supports 3dconnexion devices..but somethings really strange with the movement, certain axis are reversed, and it's not very smooth. I've had this problem usually when ther...

Is this the current state of this? I can't believe there's no support for mudbox, but for every other autodesk app? Mudbox is like the app it would be the most useful in...I can't understand why they would be holding it up?

Pretty awesome to get this old thing working on a pretty nice machine. Should give me some great functionality for $30, vs the new ones that cost $100+.

Nevermind. I got it working perfectly with the copy trick with the newer driver.

Copied the 3dxstd.dlu from a machine installed with the newer driver to the right folders in the 3dsmax std plugin folder and it's working like a charm.

Yeah Ok, I verified. I need the 3dsmax plugin for the spaceball 5000. I've done a forum search, couldn't find it, maybe I'm not searching for the right thing. It doesn't appear to be in the driver section anymore. I know it exists. There's a website about it here: http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...

spaceball 5000 and 3dsmax

I have an old serial spaceball 5000 I want to use on an xp machine. I know the support has ended, but I want to use it with 3dsmax on that machine. The standard driver doesn't seem to come bundled with the 3dsmax driver? I need a special one? Anyone know where to get it? I know there is one, I've se...
