3DxTrainer.exe COMException

I bought a 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse Enterprise Kit 2. After installing the software I can not start the Trainer - everything else seems to work. A first Test with Fusion 360 seems ok.

I installed all windows updates, restarted, uninstalled 3Dconnexion software and installed them again (a few times), but the Trainer does not start!

In the Event Viewer I see the following errors:

After installing the Media Feature Pack with "Apps & features -> optional Features -> Add a feature", the Trainer starts without a problem. It seems that there was a missing dependency (codec or something else) and the application doesn't inform about it when starting - it fails silently (you can see the process for a short time (1-2 secs) in the task manager) with the errors in the event viewer.

But I'm happy that the trainer is now starting!

Support Just Told me to look at this thread, I looked for the 'add media' option mentioned above but it does not exist for my Windows 10 pro.

This is the message from support, which makes you wonder why the printed quick start instructions tell you to use it :

Hallo,

Trainer is no longer supported and developed by us and problems may occur. We plan to remove this program in future versions of our driver,
please see if the procedure described in the Forum helps in your case.
