Import/Export Settings
I have upgraded from a SpaceMouse Pro Wireless to a SpaceMouse Pro Wireless (Bluetooth Edition).
I exported all settings from the older device to a .3dxz file.
I tried importing these settings to the new device but it isn't picking them up.
Is this a bug/issue or do I have to start all over again with this new device?

hi PC_Eire
Which version of the driver do you use?
Best regards

Re: Import/Export Settings
What was your old 3DxWare version (that you exported from)?
Re: Import/Export Settings
No, you don't need to redo everything for the new device.
There are a couple of ways of addressing it.
How many files have you imported?
Are you actively using both devices?
I've fixed this import behavior for the next release.

Re: Import/Export Settings
So when will the next minor update be available?
Re: Import/Export Settings
I periodically export the 3DxWare settings. In case I need to restore some specific setting after I changed the key button mapping, I'll import the 3dxz file. Thus the need to ensure there's no unexpected bug/glitch in the import behaviour.
In light of the unspecified release date, I'll just keep the current 3DxWare settings unchanged, and wait for the next minor update.

Re: Import/Export Settings
I got in contact with 3D Connexion support who told me I had to create all my settings again for the new device just this week... so I did and it was painful.
Like I said, extremely disappointing miss as right now the settings are not transferable. It has put my colleagues off purchasing the updated version of the spacemouse as a result.
Re: Import/Export Settings
Oh, boy, don't do so, the 3Dconnexion hardware is good for your health. You only need to create the button mapping once for the computer and backup the settings by exporting them.PC_Eire wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 11:47 pmI got in contact with 3D Connexion support who told me I had to create all my settings again for the new device just this week... so I did and it was painful.

PC_Eire,
That's too bad that you wasted so much time. Tell your colleagues to contact me first
Do you continue to use both devices? Or have you completely switched to the new BT device?
E.g., sometimes people take the old device home, to use it there.
Thanks,
Jim

Exactly that, I've brought the old one home.jwick wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 4:26 am PC_Eire,

Re: Import/Export Settings
Will you be using the same machine with both devices? Or, is that a different machine at home.
I'm trying to determine the need for an ongoing sharing of the settings between the two devices.
ATM, changes are not shared between the "similar" devices.
