MacOS Sequoia

Post by trevski_65 »

Hi All

Has anyone tried Sequoia yet, I have it installed but am having an issue with the drivers, seems apple have moved the privacy & security elements, so it's not available and drivers windows will not clear. I get the message in front saying this will clear when the setting has been enabled.
Anyone have any tips please? I absolutely realise that beta software should not be supported.

Hi trevski_65

Thank you for your post.

Thanks for pointing this out. Indeed, Open "Security & Privacy " button redirects to the setting tab where there is nothing about 3Dconnexion.
We will take care of this. For now, I advise you to use "Open System settings" button on the second window. You should be redirected and receicve this window:

From here you have to toggle the switch and click done.

I have the exact same issue on MacOS Sequoia and when I click the "Open Security & Privacy" button on the popup screen, it opens it but there's still nothing about 3DConnexion there. I'm using a SpaceExplorer 3D Mouse. Is this hardware simply not supported?

Hi nilsynils

Sorry for inconvenience we are working on it.
For now you can simply go to Setttings -> General -> Login Items & Extensions. In this section scroll down and find information for 3Dconnexion and allow it.

I have the same problem, the software installed fine, but now "3Dconnexion Home" keeps telling me that the 3Dconnexion software is not allowed to load. The button in the popup opens the system settings page for privacy and security, but there is nothing that even remotely looks like an entry related to the 3Dconnexion software. The same goes for the General > Login entries. It is frustrating that it almost works...because the hardware works, the LED comes on, and I can use it to move the cursor. What am I missing here? I'm running the latest MacOS 14.6.1.

Does this mean that functionality in "Any Application" will be restored in Sequoia?

I have been wanting to map the spacemouse axes to scrolling, but have not been able to get it to work in Sonoma on an M1 mac

I saw a related experience by someone else in the Sonoma 14.6.1 thread, but thought I'd mention that while my BT SpaceMouse Wireless now works via USB-C cord, it's not showing up under System Settings -> Bluetooth. When I first upgraded to Sequoia, nothing worked and I had to reinstall 10.8.4. This restored USB-C functionality but so far not bluetooth. Despite others' experiences regarding awkward install (privacy, extensions, etc.), mine seemed to go smoothly.

Earlier today (Oct 3rd), 3Dconnexion published version 10.8.5 of 3DxWare 10 with support for macOS 15 "Sequoia".

The software can be downloaded here.
