After 6 or so years of blissful use, I upgraded from 10.6.8 to 10.9.3. The impetus for such a dramatic move was seeing the latest macro creator on another user's machine. Holy crap! Such upgrade! I like that you can build your macro step by step. But!
I realized yesterday that it's missing a key feature. With this feature, it would be perfect. Without it, it is still required to edit XMLs to build even some simple macros by hand. And in this New Age, instead of being able to record a macro and then edit it, it appears that the entire macro must be built in xml.
The feature that the latest macro maker is missing is the record feature! Being able to build step by step is AMAZING progress, but i can't seem to be able to insert a KeyPress or a KeyRelease for doing something as simple as ctrl + pagedown. I wound up going back old school to make this simple macro.
I posit that with the introduction of a record function to join Command, Text, and Delay functions would make this a fully developed macro maker, and I can forget all about <KeyPress>E0</KeyPress>. It could also be that I'm missing something! Am I missing something??!

Ah, can't figure out how to edit my initial post, but it appears that my example was not a good one.. Turns out, ctrl+pagedown does work nicely. What i did find missing is a way to, if one wished to, hold shift and press any number of keys, or anything like that. Might be of limited usage but i still feel that the macro maker would be perfect if it had this feature.

Also, i'm considering reporting my own post due to slow response to having it approved lol not sure how else to make it go faster!

The new macro builder has improved, but still doesn't have a real record feature.dumbweighter2 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 6:54 am Good Morning | Afternoon | Evening

You still edit XML manually for key combos like Ctrl + PageDown.
