I have been using my Space Navigator for a while and it never worked in any of my layout tabs in autocad. It works in my model tab just fine. When I open the properties, it knows it is in AutoCAD, but just does nothing.
I am using 10.2.1, 3DxWinCore 17.2.1.11058, firmware 4.35 trying to work in AutoCAD mechanical 2016. I have started and stopped the driver, re-booted the computer....
Any ideas?

this is an issue with the navigation which had been implemented by Autodesk. We are tracking this issue with our internal bug number #7369:
No Navigation in Layout mode when navbar disabled, internally. When the navigation toolbar is disabled, 3D mouse movement is disabled in the Layout mode. In order to restore 3D mouse functionality, the NAVBAR command can be used to set the display of the Navigation Toolbar to “ON”.

Late answer: this behavior doesnt only exist in the layout tabs, it is also in the model space. I wondered why I cant use the space mouse in only one drawing. Thanks to this post I remembered, that I switched of the Navbar because it disturbs the drawing process if I want to edit objects in small paper space windows. As the problem is two years old it is time to solve it...
