Spacepilot - Inventor 2008 and 3dsmax 2008

Post by Solidmind »

Hi!

I have 2 workstations with a SpacePilot at each computer

First computer has Inventor 2008 and 3dsmax 2008 installed. If I work in Inventor and start 3dsmax the SpacePilot refuses to work. Even a unplugg/plugg operation will not work.

Second computer has only 3dsmax (9 and 2008) installed and the SpacePilot works in neither of them even after a new driver install. the 3D connexion logo appears on 3dsmax startup but then nothing... BUT!!!! If I have for exempel Internet Explorer active the SpacePilot works in 3dsmax but in the background!!! This is not acceptable after dishing out so much money.

Regards Matt

i've installed the 3dsmax 2008 demo too.

you have to manually copy the 3dxstd.dlu from plugins folder and the 3DxStudio.ms from scripts/startup folder from 3dsmax 9 installation to 3dsmax 2008 folders. it seems to work just fine.

oh i understand now.

could you check in 3dxware, when you have focus on 3dsmax what preset does it load? hover the mouse over it and see what ".scg" preset is loaded.
